justin organizes the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center in Jenness House, helps coordinate LGBTQ programing and acts as a resource for students, staff and faculty in regards to LGBTQ issues. justin comes to us with a wealth of eclectic experience after working for ten years in the non-profit sector for various international Christian non-profit organizations. Focusing on youth training, cross cultural communication, and human resources helped prepare him for his work here at Williams.
justin has been very active in LGBTQ activism since he came out as a lesbian in 2003. Since moving to New England in 2004 he has focused on LGBTQ community organizing. justin was one of the founding board members of Brattleboro’s Queer Community Project, and has served on the boards of Bennington Pride in Bennington, VT and the Berkshire Stonewall Community Coalition. He was one of the key organizers for the first New England Transgender Pride March and Rally in Northampton, MA in 2008, and is a regular speaker in the classrooms of our local high schools talking about queer diversity and transgender identities.
justin has a masters degree in Management of Mission Driven Organizations from Marlboro Graduate School, in Vermont. In his spare time, he and his dog, Subcomandante Marcos, are overseen by a cat, Indigo, as they tend to 9 chickens and thousands of composting red worms on his micro-farm in Williamstown.
